Yes, she had been extremely brave in fighting cancer and her positive attitude is inspiring to anyone else who has this awful disease, but there are millions of other people who are fighting this illness like my mum, who will not have had the help she has received in terms of drugs and treatment (lets assume she did not receive help on the NHS).
I just think that there are so many other people who have dedicated their lives to more worthy causes people who have overcome worse obstacles who will never get the recognition that these people who receive these awards get.
Dont get me wrong, I like Kylie, she was great on Doctor Who, and I would love to see her in concert, but the people who get these awards just dont deserve them!!

No, she got her OBE for being an inspiration for people around the world battling cancer and her amazingly positive attitude to her work and life. I don't know for sure if Kylie can sing or not (I suspect she can) but what I do know is she puts on one hell of a show and make a lot of people happy. A very well deserved OBE.
Wheres Bruce Forsyths Knighthood ,!!!!,He was entertaining when I was a child ,and I am now in my 60s and hes still entertaining,Kylie as fought a battle ,but like somebody else said so have a lot of others ,Maybe they thought she was an inspiration for other Cancer sufferers
...or could it be that the government is trying to pretend its still hip, trendy and in tune with youth culture decided to give a Kylie a gong in the hope that the youth will be more predisposed to vote for the government

Why should she get an OBE? There are many other people who have had a worse illness than her. I can't understand why show business people should get an Honour - they get paid to do their job, don't they? I always thought that Honours should go to people who are unsung heroes - like charity workers, carers, foster parents, etc., people who do what they do because they want to, not because they are paid to do it!

people keep going on she had cancer yes its a shame but so have millions of other people i knew a bloke who had cancer had his leg removed and still worked and helped raise his child he got no OBE. I think it is bad when anyone gets cancer but i think it is worse when they use it to further there career
