I watched them on Ed Sullivan - so you have an idea of how old I am. When I play the CDs I know what song is next and start before they do; drives my wife nuts. I have the albums and the CDs. Some of my albums I have two copies - one stereo and another in mono - from Parlophone or Vee Jay records besides Capitol.
The album Revolver was light years ahead of what everyone else was putting out. they were the first to record over their own recordings to get more than two tracks on a song. They had other musicians play with them when it mattered most - Eric Clapton, Billy Squire, et al - so they weren't entirely the egomaniacs that some "stars" become. It just kept getting better all the time.
John and Paul received most of the adoration but I came to appreciate George's playing more as time went on.
Now my grandson is into the White Album. It's actually titled "The BEATLES" and I have copy A1504758.
So, you could say I am a fan.
