Are rock stars who die drug-related deaths any less credible?!

Question: Do you think the deaths of people such as Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Layne Staley, and Brian Jones - and others - takes away from their legacy or adds clout to their overall credibility?
