I think those people need lives and need to realize celebs make mistakes too because they are PEOPLE. Not gods- you people are TREATING them as if they are holy. Teens get preggers everyday- there are two at my school who are. How come no one is trying to raise teen pregnancy awareness? just complain that Jamie Lynn- someone they don't know- is nasty Spears trash? Who agrees?

Being a celebrity is a double edged sword. They expect to have things given to them for free that normal people would not get such as gowns and jewelry for the Academy Awards, lavish parties for movie premieres paid for by someone else, cash payment to come and party at nightclubs, restaurant reservations, no lines at Disneyland, assistants to wait on them hand and foot, etc. And in return for these nice things, celebrities are expected to be photographed and interviewed on the Tonight Show, Entertainment Tonight, etc to help market the movie, TV Show, new album etc. That is how the business works.
As far as your comparision to other teenagers at your school who are also pregnant, I think you are missing the point. No one has said that Jamie Lynn Spears or any other teenager should not have sex. It is a natural curiousity growing up and most people have sex before they get married. But look at the two situations.
1. Pregnant teenager in high school might miss her High School prom and hanging out with her friends. Her prospects of going to college are greatly diminished and her future earnings probably decline. She is also less likely to have a successful marriage.
2. Jamie Lynn Spears might miss her High School prom and hanging out with her friends. Her prospects of going to college are greatly diminished and her future earnings will definitely decline by at least $10,000 per week and over $100,000 annually from product endorsements. That is over $2 million dollars more than any of the teenagers at your high school will earn before they graduate. She is also less likely to have a successful marriage. Not only is her image of a young, innocent beauty forever changed to a girl that is really to have sex with pretty much any guy as long as he is nice to here. In addition, Jamie Lynne was educated about contraception and had access to health care and doctors of every conceivable nature. She also has an outstanding example of what pregnancy, children, and an ill thought out marriage did to her sister's successful entertainment career.
Yes, you are right that Jamie Lynn, and other celebrities, can make mistakes. However, they have so much more to lose than your average high school teenager and regaining what they once had after something like getting pregnant at 16 and not being able to do her job while living with your 19 year old boyfriend is very, very difficult. She had a future with more possibilities than the average teenage girl in your high school and she threw it all away because she couldn't take a pill, have her boyfriend wear a condom, or just plain old say I'm not ready for that yet like the thousands and thousands of teenagers who do every day.
You see, this is where you're wrong and ignorant: this mistake could have been avoided had she been responsible. Most mistakes happen by accident, this one was on purpose. She should have know the risks. At least she's dealing with the consequence.

I think teen pregnancy is a terrible thing but I'm not going to sit here and trash Jamie Lynn for getting pregnant at 16. If nothing else, perhaps seeing a celebrity pregnant so young will waken people up a little and realize celebrities, especially young ones, are not immune to troubles.
Jamie may have made a horrible mistake but she's not a **** or disgusting white trash.
Listen, I agree with SOME of what you said, however; she is a celebrity, what do you think??? Of course the media is going to tear her up, look at what they do to her sister. She chose her path in life to be a star, she should have been more careful. The media eats this crap up we all know this.

i grew up with this one girl, shes 16 and she just had a baby last month.
theres 3 girls at my school that i know of that are pregnant.
one of them is in my class. shes really nice, and shes just like everyone else but she made a mistake.

I agree. I'm glad Jamie's beimg mature about it and she's not going to be the kind of mother her sister is. They're two different people. And don't blame the mother. It's up to the kid whether or not to have sex. Moms can't do anything but tell you not to.

I know, I totally agree with you! Celebrities ARE human you know..they make mistakes just like you and me. That's the reason Jesus died for our sins..hello?? Many people have done worse than she does, but I'm not trying to offend her, but she should have a little bit more careful, because many kids look up to her. People should just lay off celebrities and give them a break. They're just trying to be human, and they don't have to be perfect.
Just another teen who knew what could happen but had to do it anyway. Wonder when the video will come out.
