I have most of his music and was following that story for a few years. I just believed he would beat it. He was so young. My heart goes out to his family and the world has lost a sensitive, gifted musician today. I think he's the real "Leader of the Band".

Dear friends,
Dan left us this morning at 6:00am . He fought a brave battle with cancer and died peacefully at home in Maine with his wife Jean at his side. His strength, dignity and grace in the face of the daunting challenges of this disease were an inspiration to all who knew him.

I did not know he passed away I was not a fan but my heart goes out to his family may he rest in peace.
he sang that song "I've been in love with you" along with many more easy listening folkie songs. He was only 56 and died of prostate cancer, too young to die!!
