Does anyone know why Larry is called "the cable guy"?!

a friend of his was a DJ or something and asked him to call into his radio show and 'be funny' with his country character.
He did, and the DJ friend asked him at some point who he was (The character he was playing.) He blurted out the first thing that came to mind which was "Larry".
The spot was popular and eventually they invented more and more stuff about 'Larry', including adding 'The Cable Guy' to the name.
