Brad Pitt. Settle this Argument!!?!
Question: Me and the misses had this argument last night about Brad Pitt.
Amazingly enough I was sticking up for him while she was slating him!!
I said that he had done enough excellent films to be considered a movie legend whereas she said he had simply got by on his looks.
Who's right?

Personally I don't find him that attractive yet I can't think of a film of his that I haven't enjoyed (Although Ocean's 12 wasn't great but I don't count him as the main star of that...)
I think he is a good actor and if anything his looks have hindered him because people just see the face and don't bother looking beyond it.
Brad Pitt...That don't impress me much!

I never really watched his films until i seen 12 monkeys that was it i was addicted i think he is very tallented indeed !!!

You have very bad taste. The best Brad Pitt films are:-
Seven (but the star is Morgan Freeman)
Twelve Monkeys (Brad is great in that)
Fight Club (but Edward Norton truly carries that film, though Pitt is very good).
Babel (though he is out done again by his co-stars).
I am not saying he isn't a good actor, I just don't think he is renowned for his film work more than his relationships and looks. And he is not a legend.
I think you're both right! He is a very handsome man so that's the first thing that's looked at, not his talent. His great movies are almost looked over because sexy guys are not known for doing great movies. He is an excellent actor...legend? Not so sure yet! I love all his movies for the most part but I think he has to be a little more impressing on the screen! Oh and dump Angelina's skinny ***! LOL
And Snatch was great even with not understanding crap he said! Ha Ha
certainly one of the better movie stars - fight club and seven alone. i hated meet joe black. small role in thelma and louise well done. i thought he was good in spy games with robert redford.
I agree with both of you in a way.
Brad has made some superb movies - Se7en, Fight Club, etc, but he hasn't often (if ever) played parts where he is physically unattractive (apart from his silly hair in Johnny Suede!!). So yes, his films have been good, but his looks have helped.
I would say someone who doesn't play on his looks is Johnny Depp, as he's had quite a few roles (Edwards Scissorhands and From Hell to name but two) where the character isn't thought to be attractive.
Don't forget Se7en.
But he's not quite in the Kevin Spacey mould!!

Yes. Troy, Legends of The Fall. He's legendary in celebrity status. There may be better actors, but not many who create as much buzz as he does.
Well,I wasn't big on the movies you picked.I loved Legends of the Falls,Seven and the best is Sleepers an awesome movie!I really don't think he's a movie legend.I think he is attractive so he gets those typse of roles and don't get me wrong he's good in them but to me people like Jack Nicholson are Legends because it's their actual acting and not just looks.I haven't seen Brads new movies yet though.Has he even won any awards?
I think it is a combination of being very good looking and having talent as an actor. And also, he is very consistant, he has never had a 'horrible' film or a tremendous 'flop'. He is also very well known for his philantropology. He is actually a very nice guy if you have ever met him. =)
Oh and I don't know about being a legend, but I think that down the road, he will be known as one. But I think he is on the way.
He is definitly a legend especially from Fight Club. That movie will live on forever and we will all be talking about how gorgeous he is/was for years to come.

I agree with the wife although I don't see how it worked b/c I don't find him at all attractive. He's got this monkey thing going around the mouth reminds me of a chimp.
I'm not crazy about Meet Joe Black, I like the original "Death Takes a Holiday" much better. But I did like Fight Club and 12 Monkeys. Snatch I didn't see. Pitt's looks get in the way of making a real calculation as to his actor status. He's a movie star.

Although Brad IS a good actor, I would not consider him a "legend." However gorgeous, I do not believe that he has gotten by SOLELY on his good looks. =)
