What secondary instruments did The Beatles actually play on their recordings and!

Question: There's the typical instruments they played like drums, guitars, etc. but I'm wondering what the back story is to their instrumental talents. Does anyone know of a good website with accurate Beatle trivia?

The Beatles didn't use a wide range of other musicians on their recordings since they were able to do most of the instruments themselves. Paul played guitar, bass, piano, organ, and drums (on Do it in the Road and Ballad of John and Yoko) but mostly just the bass on the Beatles recordings. George played sitar, lead guitar, ukelele. (Eric Clapton was invited by George to play on While my Guitar Gently Weeps.) John played guitar, piano, mellotron, harmonica and organ, but mostly rhythym guitar. Ringo played drums and percussive instruments like tambourine. He is also credited with playing the Hammond organ on some of the Rubber Soul album. Billy Preston played keyboards on Get Back and a few others on the "Let it Be" album. George Martin, their producer, played piano and harmonium on a few cuts. Alan Civil received the first outside credit on "For No One" for French Horn. Mal Evans, equipment manager, played organ occasionally. All the Beatles provided vocals, and others filled in vocal parts including Yoko and Linda on Bungalow Bill, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, and many others on All You Need is Love. Orchestras were hired for A Day in the Life and I am a Walrus, and a string section for Eleanor Rigby.

Ringo played the drums, Paul, George and John Guitars. John and Paul also play the madolin and the piano.

They played their own instruments, but quite openly employed studio musicians to play additional instruments they didn't.

George learned how to play the Sitar in India. I believe John played Harmonica as well.
