Which do you think was the "bigger" artist?!

Question: Johnny Cash or Bob Dylan?

Answers: Johnny Cash or Bob Dylan?

I think you can gauge just from record sales: Johnny Cash was much bigger than Bob Dylan.

For decades, Bob Dylan was one of those people who was famous just for having celebrity attached to his name. His impact on music after the '60s was meager.

In sharp contrast, Johnny Cash continued to perform extensively and record. Many artists have copied his music, or done cover versions. Bob Dylan is, and will forever be, famous because of a short time in the sixties when he was a pioneer. I'm not saying he hasn't produced some good music in the interim, but nothing on the scale of Johnny Cash.

Bob Dylan, he was more "inspiring" in that he wrote lyrics about deeper issues and made a style all his own.

Johnny Cash rocks though, he's my favorite!

Johnny Cash is my favorite, however he had wider audience appeal. He was gifted in singing country western, rock, and inspirationals. I think his choice of songs were geared to the average Joe. Remember: How about His Name Was Sue, How Do You Do? He also had a great sense of humor.
