In 1984, at age eighteen, Jackson eloped with James DeBarge, a member of the singing group DeBarge. News of the couple's nuptials was reported on Entertainment Tonight. Jackson would later admit that the marriage was not a good one, and that the family—particularly Joe—disapproved of the union. Jackson was granted an annulment in March 1985.
This was b/c of his HUGE drug addiction and his drug abuse-- Janet just got sick of him
I guess the family and pressure fm paparrazzi kept getting in their private life which drove them nuts? Some say that he married her for her family name and fame and she married him for his looks. I didn't work out though.
because he cheated on her with Vanity from Vanity6.....dont know who gave me the thumbs down ,but this is a documented fact that he cheated on her and used drugs
