Carrie Underwood!! Her voice is so much more soulful and beautiful. Also her song before he cheats is one of the best songs I have ever heard. Shes hot too.

Carrie has also won nearly every award she has ever been nominated for, unlike Clarkson. I, myself, will have to go with Carrie Underwood.

in my opinion, kelly clarkson is the only american idol that has won over america. Carrie Underwood is also talented however, she does lack the vocl range that kelly clarckson seems to reach. even simon agrees that Carrie underwood is not the best, he thought Kathrine McPhee was much better than her, however he to this day believes that kelly clarkson is the number 1 idol.

while i think that carrie is talented, i'd have to go with kelly on this one. she has a much more versatile, powerful, and soulful voice. she also has more personality than carrie, and appreciates her fans more. kelly really shows off some vocal fireworks when she sings live...something that i can't say about carrie. carrie is one of the most boring live performers i've witnessed. carrie has also turned into a little bit of a diva lately - something i know i don't respect in her. kelly has always been down to earth and will continue to be because she has a backbone and has learned to stand up for herself.
