Have any of you meet anyone really famous?!

Question: What were they like?

Answers: What were they like?

I have met quite a few celebrities, as well as presidents, and vice presidents (I was the motor officer on presidential motorcades as well as Giuliani’s escort when mayor).

George Plimpton was a gentleman, Tom Hanks actually brought beer to a beach party we had, and then left, Bette Midler was a b*tch, Lee Mazzilli is a great guy, Davey Johnson equally nice. Michael Dukakis was a numbskull, Peter Criss the drummer of KISS met my expectations since he was a childhood idol of mine, and he even took a picture with me while I was on patrol. Giuliani always seemed intimidated by those of us in Highway Patrol, since most of us were all tall, wore leather boots, and towered over him.

But I am actually still good friends with Johnny Salley (Former NBA player with LA Lakers, Detroit Pistons, "Best Damned Sports Show... etc"). Spider and I grew up together in the projects and have been friends since we were ten years old.

Alan Curbishley is a friend of my cousin and I see him at weddings and funerals.he is really lovely.

I shared an elevator with james blunt and I had a drink with Paddy Reilly not that famous (Fields of Athenry) in a bar in New York.
That's it so far.

I met Orlando Bloom (Briefly) this Jan....seemed a nice enough chap...

I have seen prof. yunus...who has got novel prize last year. nothing special

Gordon from Sesame Street!! I met him at a mall appearence years and years ago. I was 20, full on punk, bright purple, spikey hair and all. He was really sweet and he even hugged me.

and recently I met Jerry Springer at a Walgreens.

Kate Winslet is really down to earth and 'normal'. We knew her when we were young. (i'm from Reading UK btw)

I met John Cleese for about twenty seconds just outside the cafe Royal in London. He was coming out as I walked past and at first I didnt recognise him as I was behind him, so I asked for a light. He happened to have a book of matches on him which he told me to keep. As I didnt want to be an annoyance, I just told him "Thanks for al the fun" and he just said "Wewll thank you very much for saying so"--he's just a bloke.

20 odd years ago I met Diana Doors, I was blocking her in in a car park and she actually said to me "shift that piece of sh*t or I'll stick it up your @rse"
Roger Moore used to live near me and I spoke to him a few times, nice enough bloke.

i once bumped into ant mcparlin in london but thats about it

I lived in Woodbridge, NJ and I met ex-nj governor Jim McGreevey a few times when he was mayor. He looked like he was carrying a heavy burden back then. Now, we all know that his gay lifestyle was the problem.

Yes, frequently. In a former life I was a professional musician and frequently came into contact with all sorts of celebs - a lot of whom are now unfortunately no longer with us - and equally unfortunately, some of whom ARE still with us! Most of them were pleasant enough, but as in all walks of life there are a few who thought they knew everything and the world owed them a living - but apart from the delightful Kenny Everett [R.I.P.] who was ALWAYS fun to work with - oh, and Rolfe Harris, I am not prepared to mention any of the others ! ! !

yes I knew former world champ john conteh(i was engaged to his cousin in kirkby, liverpool)and my mate whilst in nick was Ellery Hanley, probably the greatest player of all time in rugby league!plus briefly, ricky tomlinson in a hotel in Liverpool.....and its surprising how normal they are, with the exception of Conteh whos more like al capone!!haha

My friends uncle is Frankie valley... I met Darius Rucker from Hootie and the Blowfish :) that was a fun night... and wayyy back in the day i met Brandy, the singer chickk hahaha
and thatsss about it :) haha

Meatloaf lovely bloke, and I used to live next door to Dennis Wise again lovely bloke.

I met Princess Diana when she was visiting my area. I shook her hand and curtsied, I didn't speak to her. She was even more beautiful and graceful than you could imagine. She really did seem like a truely wonderful person. I was only 12 at the time, but I will remember it forever.

Prince Edward, Princess Beatrice,Princess Michael of Kent, Edward Fox, Frank Bruno, Cliff Richard, Tim Henman, Laurance Delallio, Trevor Brooking and quite a few more. All very nice.

I met the Queen of the United Kingdom, she came to the opening ceremony of our school, and i was showing her around! She talked a bit weird, really quiet, i could barely hear the questions she was asking!

I met Val Kilmer in S.Dakota when he was filming Thunderheart. He was a jerk

i met the italian football team in florence....Buffon is really really TALL!!!!

yes a few time

I used to live in Chiswick West London and drink in the same pub as Ant & Dec. John Thaw and Sheila Hancock lived round the corner and you'd always see well known people floating about on the High Road or in Sainsburys - Roger Daltry, Actors and Actresses from Eastenders Moira Stewart used to be a regular in Sainsburys. Sarah Green and Mike Smith were always about and Tommy Coopers daughter used to order cabs from my husbands firm regularly as did Jamie Theakston. Never really knew any of them though. The real celebrities were Chicken George a tramp who used to ride a bike round chiswick - rumour had it he was once rich but his wife left him and he became a tramp. And a woman who used to shuffle up and down the high road with plastic bags on her feet and lived in an old clapped out car in a very affluent neighbourhood, but the neighbours loved her and had her car reinstated when the council took it away.
