Is it true that Dumbledor is gay?!
Question: That was SUCH a bone headed move for her to make...claiming he's gay. Don't get me wrong. I have gay BEST friends. It's not about being anti-gay or pro-gay. She wrote all of those books....made all that money...is still making it with the movies, and couldn't leave it alone to just BE what it was. A great series of books for kids to get into. No...she had to jump on the political bandwagon. We're DROWNED in that crap. She should have let it alone rather than trying to shove her 'political correctness' message in there at the last second.
It won't hurt sales, but it sure as hell won't catapult her into the world of 'famous people who are politically involved'. It just makes her look like an attention hound. If his sexuality had ANYTHING to do with these books...she wouldn't need to announce it after she's written the last one.
The thing is...WHO CARES if Dumbledore was gay or not. It had no affect on the books. It's like saying Fred Flintstone and Barney Rubble had gay liasons behind Wilma and Betty's back. It's like some cheap 'fan fiction' to say something so irrelevant to the character.

According to the author...yes, but who cares? It doesn't affect the story. One arguement was that he never had a close relationship with a woman, but McGonigal never had a close relationship with a man (that we hear of). Maybe she's gay too.
