Why do we care so much about the lives of celebrities?!

Because they're rich and they do outrageous things.
I dont know why i just like them because they are on tv.
People enjoy knowing what's going on in celebrity lives because they're bored of there own.Looking into other people life gives them joy and lets them know that there's stuff out there more exciting than their lives.Maybe not all people but I think this is the reason that most read about celebrities.
Mainly because the media feeds on this stuff and thinks we need to know...ratings, etc.
It's not that we "care " about celebrities' lives. The point is, being celebrities, they are admired, adored, idolozed and fantasized about. "Regular" people can only stand on the sidelines and watch what these celebrities do.
We equate what they do with some sort of "standard" that people look up to. Many people think that just because they are celebrities, they need to be admired and their acts copied. Oftentimes, what celebrities do are copied by non-celebrities because it is "in." Misguided, but true.
When we do the same things that celebrities do, it is equated to the same glitz and glamor as celebrities enjoy.... and who doesn't want to be glamorized and idolized?
It is not so much that we care about celebrities' lives as it is a feeling of being important and admired like celebrities are.
Its interesting. Its like solving a puzzle. They find it fun to find out those facts. If it was any old person, they wouldnt find it AS interesting. Its kind of exciting.
People want to know what other peoples lives are like. The magazines and papers get to know alot about celebrities and its interesting to know whats going on in their lives.
It's because we have no lives.....
