I get the same way.I had the soundtrack tape for "La Bamba" for years after seeing the movie.You think of how great the song is and how fast Ritchie died,before he had a chance to make more songs.The scary thing for me is watching the blizzard on the movie screen and walking outside in North Detroit to the same kind of snow;FREAKY!! I also get that way with Patsy Cline,Glen Miller,and Buddy Holly .All killed in Plane Crashes,in light aircraft,at night or overcast conditions.
I like La Bamba, Donna is OK but it doesn't do it for me.
For some reason he looks a lot like Gary Busey.
I like La Bamba and Donna but when I hear the Donna song I get depressed and sad also! Poor guy! Rest In Peace Ritchie Valens!!!
He wrote the song "Donna" about his wife, Donna. It is a little depressing.

Donna is a sad song really. Being a Richie Valens fan you already know that when he wrote that song it came from his heart expressing his love for Donna. He wrote this song during a sad and difficult period in both their lives.There for, when he wrote it, he put his heart and soul into each and every word. When he sang the song, his heart and soul was in his voice as well. Because, each time he was singing, he was singing his words of love to her. When Richie passed on from his tragic accident, including The Big Bopper and Buddy Holly, I got a little depressed every time I heard the song Donna. Now I don't get depressed, but, still get a sad feeling when I hear this particular song.
My favorite song is the same as the majority of people (I believe) is, La Bamba. Did you see the movie? Great movie, or so I thought any way.
