hahaha, no i don't know either.. dancing is really beautiful and fun to watch, but no idea why they'd call up old stars to do it.. weird-o!
I think they have nothing else to do. Maybe they have nothing to do like movies or songs. And they get involve with dancing.
Occasionally you get a crotch shot. What more can I say? Damn.

all it is, is washed up celebs that are trying to get back in the spotlight, and frankly, it's not interesting at all. why people watch it is beyond me. (they must be pretty desperate to go on a show like that.) ... now... a shot at love with tila tiquila...

Well, young man, I suggust you sign up and find out. Your in controll, you lead the woman, you go forward she goes back ward, with a flick of your wrist you can turn her around, why there's really nothing quite like it. A dance between two people its like nothing you've ever done before, but it takes quite a bit of exercise. Why, it's wonderful. Liberate yourself now and giver er a whirll. You'll be glad you did boy.....
It's not dancing per se, but seeing the "fish out of water" struggle of celebrity doing "plain folks stuff."
We conflictingly both want to worship celebrities and bring them down to our level. So having famous people do things outside their expertize that a "normal person" can do is the thing. This is just a dancing phase. celebs have also sung, switched careers with "normal" people, been on game shows (the most popular so far for "not acting" appearances,) etc.
So, other questions should be: Why is dancing so popular right now? Is it linked to "American Idol" and "So You Think you can Dance" as well as "Dancing with the Stars"' popularity?

They are going to market this crap, yet we can't get them to run another season of "Circus of the Stars” I want to see Mick Jagger stick his head into a tigers mouth. Elton John in tights on the trapeze. Britney Spears in one of those skimpy female tight rope outfits. And Simon (what ever the hell his last name is) getting shot out of a human cannon!!

I don't know either, but as for me I prefer the Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, the History Channel, and the cooking shows. Everything else is pretty much boring.
I like it beacuse it affirms to me who is nice and who isn't in celebrity world. I really don't like Kenny Logan, but I do like Kelly Brook.
Also, if they can do it, then us 'norms' could also have a go. It looks like fun!
