Why do we have entertainment like "growing up gotti" "dog the bou!
Question: Growing up Gotti...the daughter of a Godfather who is a horrible criminal so we all watch the daughter of a criminal and her children. Then Dog the Bounty Hunter is caught using horrible racial slurs towards his sons girlfriend. We need to be more aware of what we call entertainment. Dog the Bounty Hunter is the slime of the world and we watch him like he is a hero and Growing up Gotti the daughter and her spoiled sons all related to one to the previous leader of a crime family. Where is our logic? Why not show our children we have a tad more intelligence then that? Its no wonder our world is in a mess. Look at what we call entertainment.

its called ratings and the network put on what they believe will draw people to their station and some shows they should apology to the public for airing. its like a horrible car wreck where we really dont want to see but cant stop ourselves from looking at. but these shows are usually short lived. Reality Television has ruined t.v. forever & whats worse is the majority of them are staged and scripted. Gotti's show didnt last long and Dog's show is fading. Dog's shows are all like repeats with only the faces of the criminals changing. I've read some pretty unflattering stories about this man lately too. They pray before going after a chase and then cuss like sailors during their run for them, It's F*ck this & F*uck that...yeah, thats teaching our children the right thing to do! Some one will eventually write a book about Dog(and Beth) and expose what hes really about and its probably gonna be a family member that writes it. Most of what he tell about himself on the shows are lies anyway. He is one Conceited man!

Because some people feel that this is entertainment. And it gives Gotti, for one, enough self esteem to publish a (horrible) cooking book.
thats so called history which some hasnt made it to the books yet. i dont call it entertaiment at all i call it boring and change the channell. to me wwe wrestling is entertaiment or comedy shows is my entertaiment .
The problem comes in when parents aren't educated. Those could all be opportunities to teach kids lessons. Its nice to give them a warning about gangsters and racists...because they will encounter it in the world. But the T.V. is used as a babysitter by some. Lonely kids will idolize the characters.
Plus entertainment in of itself is useless. Causes cognitive dissonance. Fills our head with goop when there is so much going on in reality. Very distracting. Pretty sad actually...
Because its ENTERTAINMENT! Just because you don't like it doesn't mean everyone shouldn't either. Different things appeal to different people. If you don't like it, don't watch it but don't criticize other people if they find it entertaining.
Its surprising how we can be entertained. I dont watch tv hardly and i'm fine with that! Once the audience shows interest more shows like it will form. Look at those dating shows.
If you read his book you will find a lot of his tactics, and morality is lacking. He smoked crack in the mid 1990's while he was Bounty Hunting. His murder conviction was in the late 70's. I had always figured he completely changed his life around after the conviction. Apparently he hasn't changed.
It's important to note that the murder victim was a black man.
