Eddie Murphy: Should He Do Stand Up Again?!
Question: I think he's still funny & could put many of his contemporaries to shame if he were to do an updated stand up "last hurrah".
(though he'd likely have to omit the gay jokes this time)
Though I thought 'Norbit" was funny, the movies before that are totally forgettable. His last good one was 'The Distinguished Gentleman" back in '92.
I think it'd be great to see him do a one-off stand up tour.

Only if his heart was really in it. He was absolutely hysterical when he was doing standup back then, but times have changed and a lot of his material really wouldn't fly these days. If fatherhood and time have mellowed him out then I really wouldn't want to see him go up and pretend like it's the 80s again. If he wanted to back on stage I wouldn't mind seeing him do some club dates to work out new material and then a big HBO show or something.

I THINK HES VERY FUNNY
I watched his "Raw" and thought he was an ignorant racist lo-life and I've never enjoyed any of his work since then.
I used to think he was great....now I understand why some still use the "N" word to some people...he's definitely one.
I think he'd still be funny, but seems he's grown out of some the the stand-up subjects he use to cover. He used to be a rated R, and seems now to cover PG subjects.
Gone from a Richard Pryer type to a Bill Cosby type.
