Paparatzi - get out of the way...?!

Question: Britney Spears recently ran over the foot of a photographer who was crowding her car (right after losing visitation rights to her kids).

Now, It might just be me, but, the idiot could see she was trying to drive forward, what was he doing getting so close to a moving car? Seriously. If he was trying to slow her down, or keep her there, then that is unlawful detainment, and HE should get charged with attempted kidnapping. Or something.

What do you lot think about this latest development in the Britney Saga?

I feel for Britney so bad! Did you see the pic's of all of them just surrounding her car? She's going like 3 MPH trying to get out of a parking garage and can't even move her car because she's surrounded with camera lenses in her windows. The only reason she was even able to get into her car before that happened is because she was parked in a secured garage. Could you imagine every move you made with 50 cameras sooooo close in your face, in your car! People wonder why she's losing it?

I did hear that the pappo is not filing any charges, he's not hurt and he's sorry for being so close.

Yeah, I just saw a segment about that on the news. The paparazzi are really out of control and have been for some time. You're right - the idiot should have moved out of the way. However, I wouldn't be surprised to see him try to sue Britney for running over his foot, because lawsuits are just as out of control as the paparazzi.

I'm all about freedom of press, but this issue is something I have conflicting feelings about. On one hand, yeah, celebrities know what they're getting into and they live privelaged lifestyles - fame comes with the territory. On the other hand, even celebrities deserve some privacy and to be able to do things without being swarmed by these scumbags. They're always pushing the limits to get the story, and in doing so, they've played indirect roles in everything from mental breakdowns to deaths.

If the American public stopped demanding the work these paparazzi do it wouldn't be an issue. I don't see that happening, though. Entertainment media is still, somehow, gaining popularity, as real news continues to lose out.

My friend and I just got into a heated debate about this very subject earlier.

While I agree that the paparazzi take it too far most of the time, Britney causes all of this drama and hectic paparazzi frenzy on purpose. She may be as crazy as we've seen but she's not as stupid as she wants us all to believe she is. She COULD get away from the paparazzi, but chooses not to. My friend says they'd follow her ANYWHERE. That's not true, how many pictures do you see of her when she goes home to Louisiana? She needs to go somewhere and get herself together out of the media's watchful eye so she can get her kids back and be a better mother. She's so spoiled and strung out that she doesn't care anymore and the only thing left in her life is the attention of the media.

I used to feel sorry for her, I really did. But not anymore. She knows these crazy antics she does drives the paparazzi wild and salivating and she's admitted that she does the things she does for "shock value."

So as long as she does the things shes doing, and as long as the American public are so interested in seeing her dysfunction, the paparazzi is going to hound her and put themselves in risk of getting her.

I do hope that she's not slapped with another legal trouble over this guy's foot being run over, it's really not her fault (in a way). He should've moved, a 5 year old would know to move when a car is moving next to them. So that's his fault.

In this case I would put the blame on the paparatzi..

Everyone deserves some privacy, but a lot of times it's the celebrity themselves who leak information about their whereabouts and then act like they're being 'ambushed'.
