I think what your trying to say (in a weird, almost backwards way) is that celebrity status today is easily achieved and not earned for any particular talent.
In my day people were famous for something..i.e you had to have a talent of some sort to justify your fame and status.
Nowadays, you can be 'famous' and have your picture in magazines for nothing at all......Paris Hilton is a perfect example...What has she done???? Her father built his hotel empire and em massed a huge fortune. what has she done!
What can she do?? think about it. can she act? No. even though she's been in movies. Can she sing? NO. Even though she has released an album. As far as i can tell she has had these opportunities given to her because she can AFFORD them. NOT because she deserves them.
And who's to blame???? Every single person (whether they like her or not) that buys a magazine or watches a program with her stupid, lazy eyed, thunderbird lipped, skinny ***,"oh thats hot" face on it.
Just think of it this way would anybody really give a **** or even like her if she was just a normal girl, with a normal 9-5 job. NO! In fact you would probably hate her.
