how strange? absolutely, both in Libertines and in Babyshambles. He is an excellent performer (when he bothers to show up) and has a connection with the fans thats completely unique. His lyrics are very human and beautifully composed. He's got a very course, lax voice, but if you really want to hear him sing beautifully, try:

i heard him sing at this years t in the park and he wasnt wasted and gave a great performance Yes many times!

I've seen him live twice and am about to see him a third time.
His music is breathtaking and he has the ability to inspire and write meaningful lyrics which sadly, a lot of people today in the music business fail to do. yes,i like the babyshambles
