Answers: hi everyone. i need help with a problem for my math homework, i just don't get how to work out the problem. here is the problem:

3/16 + 1/6

please help me! and show the work please. thank you soo much!! :) make everything the same. 1/6 is the same as 8/48 and 3/16 is the same as 9/48 so 8/48 and 9/48 =17/48 the way to do it is find the smallest number that both 16 and 6 will go into. in this case, 48 is the smallest number. and you cannot reduce 17/48 so that is your answer. have fun! 3/16 + 1/6 = (3/16 x 6/6) + (1/6 x 16/16) = 18/96 + 16/96 = 34/96 = 17/48

(multiply both by the opposite denominator. it's the same as multiplying by 1, and it gets both bottoms to be the same. then just add and simplify.) WRONG CATEGORY!
