is it to get publicity and connections to then represent the designs. and how are they invited do they invite themselves or
do they get invited and get paided to go how much?

Answers: it's usually great publicity when stars like ''paris hilton'' or the prior-to-train-wreck ''lindsey lohan'' simply because the papparazzi shows up and when they're shown in magazines, the location is usually presented [including the event]. also, celebrities usually do not get paid, they just get the invite. if you got invited to some hot fashion show, wouldn't you like to go? and as for the person that invites them, there is no specific person that invites them to all of the fashion shows. my guess would be that whomever is in charge of the guest list for that specific event. hope this answered your question :] It's good publicity for both the celeb and the design house. Usually a publicist or liaison from the house will invite a celebrity, though sometimes they may actually be friends of the designer and so forth. If the celeb is going to be wearing their designs for an event a lot of times they are invited to see the new collection. I've never heard of a celeb getting paid to go to a show, most are more than willing since it's pretty much guaranteed press. They are probably invited.
Free clothes/stuff maybe? I believe that the celebrities get invited but they pay.
They're rich, so they can afford to go to awesome things like that. It's their own entertainment. If they can afford it, why not go? Anyway, everyone that goes there is high class, so they don't have to worry about fitting in or too much paparazzi .
