What is Claire Danes' ethnic background?
I'm wondering what Claire Danes' ethnic background is and where her surname Danes comes from. Maybe even where her parents came from? I'm not trying to be racist and I say this because I've asked about other actors and have gotten criticism about being judgmental. So I'm definitely not doing that. I'm thinking Danes is an English surname, or maybe even Scandinavian. Can anyone clarify this?

Answers: im not sure if this is accurate but wikipedia says that "danes" is a danish name.
her wiki states that her childhood was very WASPy. so that rules out several ethnic backgrounds. "claire" has french and latin origins. Source(s):
