Straight edge?!

Straight edge?

If you're straight edge does that mean you put X's on your hand? and i saw this video and Gerard Way had X's on his hands, but how could that be? he was an alcoholic and did drugs when he had the X's on his had so wouldn't that make him a hiporcrite? here's the video i saw it on. so do the X's on his hands mean straight edge?

Straight edge means you don't drink smoke or do drugs so if that guy was an alcoholic then yeah I guess that makes him a hypocrite. I really don't mean to bash him or anything but he looks really young so he probably didn't really understand the whole "straight edge" thing.
