Do people in the UK actually like Lily Allen? In the US some of s here do but she gets bad publicity?

there are those music magazines that say things about her shows and music but overall she id doing great here. What do people think about her over there?

Lily Allen is generally liked by the British public (especially by me!). She comes across as honest, real, not too polished, and she seems to have a decent personality. Her music's great too, and different from what else is out there. And she dresses fabulously (women's clothes shops over here are now full of 'Lily' style dresses, so she must be doing something right).

I think the press (in the UK and US) feel obliged to diss her because she's honest about her drinking habits and drug use, which they don't want to be accused of glorifying, and because she refuses to fit in with the traditional idea of a pop star (in personality and looks). Interestingly, the things that make the press hate Lilly happen to be the same things that make me (and a lot of other people) like her.
