I'd heard that she was nagging him for a commitment, more than what they already had, and he refused to give it. I think that underneath her trampy exterior, she really wants a traditional life. Most women do want commitment, and when they give the goodies away, they don't get their needs met in return. Can't help but almost feel sorry for her, but John is not a commitment minded guy. He still wants to play.
