Americans why are you so obsessed with Paris Hilton?

i ve read that some people collect her trash like empty cans,and sell it on enternet.

She is a famous celebrity (eventhough it may be for all the wrong reasons) and is one of those who hog the limelight continuously. Apart from her hogging the limelight, there are also Nicole Richie, Lindsay Lohan and Britney Spears (who are all her friends. How interesting.)

What sets Paris apart from other celebs is the fact that she is an heiress. She had all that fortune and money from the second she was born. She didn't have to start from scratch like most celebs who act or sing.

People are obsessed (the right word would be 'curious') with her also because she herself demands all that attention. It's obvious that she loves attention and publicity (whether bad or good) and she does things that make her infamous.

And it is hard to ignore someone who keeps doing stupid things and who keeps appearing everywhere - from the TV to magazines to radio (because she 'sings') and the latest, in the jail (but right now she is free and enjoying life as she was before. Who believed her anyway when she said she was gonna come out of jail as a 'changed' woman?).

I believe there are more people out there who detest her than like or look up to her. And the reason why some people collect her trash and sell them online is not because they are obsessed with her. It's because they know that some (crazy) fans of hers would buy her trash.
