Can anyone give me any insight into what's going on with me?

I was and am a huge fan of Aaliyah (the late R&B singer killed in a plane crash in 2001). I was inspired by her since her first single. The singers in the 90's (Mary J. Blige, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey) were power singers. I have more of a softer, sultry voice and I couldn't sing their songs well. When Aaliyah came out, I could hit every note and I gained the confidence to sing in public. Now I'm working on a CD. Aaliyah was just one year older than me, and because of our vocal style, I felt very connected to her. Later I found out that we had similar bouts with body image (we both thought we were too skinny). She began to have confidence in herself at the same time I was learning to believe in myself. It's been almost 6 years since her death, but for about 6 months now, I've been dreaming about her almost every night. Sometimes we're friends, sometimes I'm still just a fan, somtimes I'm at her grave. I don't listen to her music hardly at all. Why is she in my dreams now?

I think it's just because you are working on the CD, working toward the same career goal as her. She has been an idol for you, so she is always in your subconscience. What's in our subconscience frequently comes out in our dreams.
