personally i kinda do i think some of it is because of her accent but its still pretty annoyin

Yes, it is very whiny. It kind of sounds like she sings through her nose too much. I do think it worked for the song "Unfaithful" though. She sounded like she was really agonizing over being unfaithful to that guy. So I guess sometimes it works for her....
