What is up with the main character in Metallica's "Unforgiven" video?
I mean, is it one person? Maybe he is a child that turns into an old viejito? Or Maybe it is two different people? Could it be that the grandchild fell into a hole or maybe the city sewer... and the grandpa went in after to look for him because dinner is ready and the frijoles are getting cold? What gives? And why is James Hetfield so upset or sad about the developments? Shouldn't he maybe stop singing and ask Lars and the guys to help out? I mean you can get a pretty nasty infection if you are playing around in a sewer. Like my Tia allways said, "entre menos burros, mas helotes!"

The video depicts a poor,tortured,dejected child, kept in a very "nasty kind of prison" of his tormentor's making. All his life, as he struggles to find a way out, he is used as a "whipping-boy" and eventually "gives up" and preceeds his own destiny, an awful, lonely, unsung and unwept death. It is very sad indeed, however, Metallica happens to be one of my favorite bands.
