Is it true that the Beatles were originally rejected by Decca Records as being !
Question:
Is it true that the Beatles were originally rejected by Decca Records as being "uncommercial"?
They later went to Parlohone (EMI) and were snapped up?
Answers:
A Decca A and R man called Dick Rowe rejected them. "Guitar groups are out" he told Brian Epstein!
Parlophone took them on, but they weren't too sure about them. Ringo got relegated to tambourine on their first recording session!
Years later, someone said to John Lennon that Rowe must be kicking himself now! Lennon replied, "I hope he kicks himself to death!"
